M'sM and M'sD have done it .. 1013S now belongs to M'sD! At present she is called Redwood, but I'm not sure that she will keep that name.
Here is a picture of her out of water with her gantries still attached (they have been removed now)
There were pieces of metal where she is to lie left from work on Myrtle, so they were dug out of the very glutinous mud by a very strong man...
Now we have to mark the channel so that the tow-boat can find the way in ..
and then we have to hope for good weather ... forecast good at moment except that high pressure so lower tide height, and low winds .. also look ok at present.
Then we have to hope that all goes smoothly so that we don't have to leave her somewhere peculiar because we haven't managed to get her in far enough ..

Myrtle's jetty needs a bit of attention!
As you can see from these photos the posts holding up the jetty are a bit worse for wear .. but some of them have been holding up the jetty and the sheds for more than 30 years, and before that they held up telegraph poles ..
I have put some extra boards on the floor of this shed as I didn't trust the boards and thought I would spread the load ..

A safety net ..
M's Missus has added some bright orange plastic safety netting to the side of the deck to stop small children, animals and garden chairs from getting blown over-board.
The colour goes rather well! I think I may get some more for the other side .. though it does at least have some ropes ..
I was thinking of getting annual climbers to grow along it ...

We have changed our minds ...
and are wondering if it would be better to pay more and get this one :-
since it has a 'lid' on it, which means it is dry and already has a 'roof'
Inside it looks really good ...
and the same again with flash ...
and the underside of the main hatch ..
and her bow ..
So much work has already been done on her, that she might in the end be a better bet for us, even though she will use a large part of our funds. On Tuesday she's being surveyed for thickness at the water-line and decks.
If we go ahead, we hope that she will come in on the high-tide at the end of April.

Barge 345 .. Myrtle's missus barge
We have put in an offer (subject to survey) for an ammunition barge as a home for MM's daughter ..in future to be known as MMD, and had it accepted!
This is to replace the 'Resolution' on the other half of Myrtle's plot.
They are going to remove all the water out of her before the survey, and then remove the ten tons of metal plates which make up her floor and then pump all the silt out of her. They will then put pieces of old timber across her hatch, and cover the whole lot with tarpaulins to stop her from filling up again.
We then hope to get her towed her during April.
Let the adventure begin (with all its ups and downs ..)
Here are some pictures:-
Outside .. we forgot to take good ones! But this is what we got ..
and her top-view .. the blue is netting put there to stop the pigeons getting in
her hold .. the blue is a reflection of the netting covering it ..
and a closer look at the front of the main hold
the crew's cabin in the fore-hold
and less salubrious accommodation in the aft hold ..
